Where Do Elephants Live?
There are two main types of elephants: African elephants and Asian elephants.
African elephants live in Africa, in places like grasslands, forests, and deserts. They love areas with lots of trees and water. You might find them near rivers and lakes where they can splash and play!
Asian elephants live in India, Sri Lanka, and other parts of Asia. They prefer forests and jungles where they can find shade and plenty of food.
Elephants are always on the move, looking for food and water. They can walk up to 50 miles in a single day! That's like walking from one town to another.

Elephants are herbivores. That means they only eat plants! They don't eat any meat at all.
Can you guess how much an elephant eats every day? They munch on about 300 pounds of food! That's like eating 1,200 hamburgers in one day. Elephants spend about 16 hours every day just eating!
